Happy Birthday to Our Sweet Sweet Girl!!

Our beauty turned one year old today. She did it in style just like any one year old should...with cake all over the place.
We wonder everyday how in the world we managed to get out of China with this treasure. We really are the lucky ones.
We took her to Bamboo Garden (a local Chinese restaurant) last night for the first time. She loved, I mean LOVED the food. She ate like we have never seen. She is still iffy on solid food and will usually spit it out a few times before reluctantly mashing and swallowing it. She took dumplings and chicken in without a second thought and was signing "more" before swallowing what was in her mouth. It was hysterical. So, tonight I made her some noodles and she shoveled them in one after another and was signing "more" with grubby hands full of what was left on her highchair tray. That's our girl! Our one year old girl!
Happy Birthday our one and only! Good heavens do we ever love you!!

Speechless

There is really nothing to say except that this angel takes my breath away!!

And...She's...Off!!

Our big girl is now on the move. She crawls using the bottom of her feet. She wants to walk so badly she'll do it sitting. It will not be long before she is brave enough to walk on her own. She will walk holding only one of our fingers now.
She is very happy and is starting to give some lovin' back occasionally. She still loves books and also loves pictures. We go through all of them in her room when she wakes in the morning and from naps. Her favorite books are photo albums, The Foot Book, Goodnight Moon and Millie Moo. She loves the big barn doors at the end of Millie Moo. She truly is a bundle of joy. We love this sweet angel. We don't know how we got so lucky.

Happy Easter

Maya got all dressed up yesterday morning and we went to my sister-in-law's church for Easter. She was beautiful in her light green dress. This one may be just as, if not more frilly than her red couch dress. She sure does frilly well, doesn't she?

Maya

This is the girl that we get to see most of the time these days. For the past 2 mornings I have gone into Maya's room to find her sitting up in her bed. She started crawling just a tiny bit yesterday and I'm guessing by next week she will be totally mobile (which, by the way, scares me to death and makes me so proud of our super girl). Still, her favorite way to get from one place to another is by taking my fingers and running there. She grunts and points to things. She says "Hi" and waves hello and goodbye. She doesn't wait until the persons she is waving to is gone now.
Progress, progress... we see something new everyday in our sweet Maya. She is something else!!
